Our Summer Youth Workshop is designed for our budding young actors to step on stage and learn about their craft while they are out of school for the summer.

Mr. Bobby Helms, choral director for the Houston County High School Chorus, will be directing a Youth Theatre Camp this year. Camp will be drama focused, with an ensemble heavy production to allow for opportunities to work on singing in a group. Camp and all performances will be held in the auditorium at Houston County High School. This camp is open to children who are upcoming 2nd graders through upcoming 10th graders. If your child participated in a GMEA Choral All-State event, and can provide a letter from their choral director confirming this, then this camp will be free of charge. (You will still need to register for camp by contacting Perry Players at 478-987-5354, and leave a message for a call back) Applications will be processed in the order in which they are received. Space is limited, please register your child early by going to perryplayers.org  to reserve your spot. Registration will open March 29th and will close once our capacity is reached. 
 
There will be two separate two week Sessions. Each Session is $250. per student 
 
Session I,       Dr. Dolittle, Jr., will be held from June 4th-15th, Monday-Friday,  from 9am to 5pm. There will be three performances.  Friday, June 15th at 7:30pm, Saturday, June 16th at 2:00pm and 7:30pm.  Tickets will be $5 (per person) Cash at the door. 
 
Session II, The Lion King, Jr., will be held from June 18th-29th, Monday-Friday,   from 9am to 5pm. There will be three performances.  Friday June 29th at 7:30pm, Saturday, June 30th at 2:00pm and 7:30pm.  Tickets will be $5 (per person) Cash at the door. 
 
Participants will complete an informal vocal audition with Mr. Helms to be placed in the appropriate voice part. Participants will need to bring a lunch, snack, and drinks each day. Drop off and Pick up will be in front of the auditorium.
